Challenges

Karakal works in sync with Warner Records to manage physical music files, which includes audio, images, and other related content. The content from Warner records is stored in the AWS Eastern United States (N. Virginia) region. However, Warner only supports a push content mode. Unfortunately, pushing content to karakal’s IDC has been slow and often interrupted, failing to meet the application requirements.

Achievements

By fully leveraging the global stability of AWS’s backbone network, we’ve created an efficient solution. We transferred the various data from the eastern United States to Tokyo, Japan, and then initiated the application download from Tokyo. This strategy has significantly improved both speed and stability, successfully meeting the application requirements for the music base.

Challenges

The local data center resources are nearing saturation point and lack room for expansion. Given that the user base is spread across the globe, a stable and high-speed network is essential. An additional requirement is to ensure the migration process occurs without any disruption to online service or business continuity.

Achievements

RoamWiFi travel service platform has successfully migrated from its local data center to AWS. By leveraging AWS services such as VPC, EC2, RDS, ELB, S3, CloudWatch and DMS, we have achieved stable operation. Importantly，this transition to AWS occurred without any interruption to business activities. AWS provides superior stability, flexibility, and operational services, as compared to the local data center. It offers stable low-latency networks and protection against DDOS attacks. Furthermore, in terms of cost, AWS allows capital expenditure to become variable, resulting in more efficient financial management.

Challenges

New applications deployed in AWS necessitate the design of a comprehensive network structure and a daily operations and maintenance management system. These are critical to enhancing the stability, reliability, and security of the system. By integrating the features provided by AWS products with monitoring solutions at the application layer, we can better accomplish comprehensive system protection.

Achievements

During Camel Games’ cloud deployment process, Ultrapower has assisted by accomplishing the following tasks:

We planned an account management system and streamlined IAM users and roles. Therefore, enhancing the overall security of the account.

We designed the VPC network, established cross-account VPC peer-to-peer links, and re-structured security groups, resulting in improved overall network security.

We deployed CollectD plugins for CloudWatch with the use of automation tools, significantly enhancing the monitoring system.

We configured and installed JumpServer, integrating it with Camel Games' existing automated release and deployment tools. We transitioned the existing operation and maintenance approach from EC2 to a unified access via JumpServer, improving overall security.

We assisted Camel Games to in conducting verification tests for logging and gaming tools, moving from RDS to an S3+Athena architecture. Additionally, we completed the development of the log data migration tool.
